At Clonarn Clover, we only produce Free Range Eggs – this means that our hens have access to the outdoors during the day and are housed at night time only. Therefore they are free to roam and behave naturally, which leads to happier and healthier hens!

Class "A"     Egg Specification
Class "A" eggs shall have the following minimum characteristics:

Shell and Cuticle:
Normal, clean, undamaged, good colour.

Air Space:                
Height not exceeding 6mm, stationary.
 
White:                     
Clear, limpid, of gelatinous consistency, translucent, free from discoloration, cloudiness, blood spots and meat spots.

Albumin height:         
Not less than 75 haugh units at time of packing

Yolk:
Visible on candling as a shadow only, outline indistinct, well centred & round in shape. Very slight movement on twirling. No mottling or patchiness.  Free from extraneous matter of any kind.

Yolk colour:              
Between 8 -13 Roche on Roche colour fan.

Germ cell:               
No germ cell development

Odour:                     
Free from extraneous odours.
