The impromptu tiny Clonarn Clover seed was sown 18 years ago on a small farm in County Cavan when Leo Farrelly identified the need to diversify. Free Range Egg production was considered a good option so Leo & his wife Margaret set up a production unit with 150 laying hens. The discerning consumer soon recognised the arrival of a genuine, flavoursome, free range egg in the market place, so growth took place immediately. Today, Clonarn Clover packs the eggs from almost 100,000 Free Range laying hens. Our 26 dedicated production units, based within a radius of 60km from our packing centre, along with our 14 employees form the effective TEAM that produce, pack and distribute our guaranteed Free Range eggs to our prestigious customer base.
In keeping with the company’s ethos the product portfolio continued to grow. In mid 2000 our Mega Egg enriched with Omega 3, Vitamin E, Organic Selenium (Selplex) and Organic Eggs were added to our range. In April 2001, a new state of the art packing centre was equipped with a modern completely stainless steel Diamond 2100 Grader, the first of its kind in Western Europe. The commitment of the Clonarn Clover management team to excellence in all areas of its business has positioned the company as Ireland’s leading supplier of Free Range Eggs to the retail sector.
